12 Weeks

Well, I've hit 12 weeks and I am feeling better, (I had been nauseous and tired for some time) although I have started getting bad headaches, which the doctor tells me is normal to experience at this point in the pregnancy.  I went to my 12 week appointment yesterday and all is well.  The nurse tried to hear our baby's heartbeat with a doppler device, but couldn't locate it so I had another ultrasound, LUCKY ME!! :)  My mother came with me, so she got to see the baby, which was very nice.  Rich can't make it to my appointments unfortunately.  (He can not take any time off of work...bummer.)
What a difference a month makes!  The baby seems to have quadrupled in size.  It's moving a flailing around now.  We could see it kicking its little legs, doing back flips and rolling all around, it was so neat!  The doctor said the baby is very active, and she may have been humoring me, but she also says it has long legs, lol.  Here are the four pictures the doctor took for us!  No new picture of me this time because I'm still really not showing at all yet.
Arms up legs kicking, looks like its saying HOORAY!!

My first OBG appointment

March 25th was my first doctor's appointment.  I was so nervous, I knew I was pregnant, I just wanted them to tell me everything was ok and going well.  I had been anxious about the appointment for a couple weeks and when the day came I was VERY excited.  Well, with my luck, my car wouldn't start that morning!  Rich had already left for work one hour away hours ago and I was stranded.  I was NOT going to miss this appointment!  I called my friend Nicole, who works with me about 10 minutes up the road, she came and picked me up.  (What a great friend!!)  I dropped her off at work and borrowed her car to go to the appointment.  When I got there, I was already 15 minutes late and I could not find a parking space ANYWHERE!  Pregnancy hormones were kicking in and I was sure I was going to start crying my eyes out :(  I was worried they would cancel my appointment because I was late.  So, needless to say, my blood pressure was through the roof when they took it.  That was their only concern, the doctor did an ultrasound and I was able to see our baby's little tiny heartbeat!  My own skipped a beat ♥  (About a week later I had my blood pressure checked again and it was excellent)

We're having a baby!

Hello Family and friends.  Just to give you a run down, Richard and I have been dating for about 3 1/2 years.  We are engaged and have been looking to buy a house.  We've found a beautiful house in Plainfield Ct. and are closing in the end of April/begining of May of this year.  We plan to have a very small and private wedding ceremony there this June.  We have discussed starting a family, and not knowing how long it would take for me to get pregnant, we decided to stop using birth control the fisrt of this year.  Well, things happened much quicker than we had anticipated, hence the title of this blog!  I am keeping this blog so family and friends who are not in the area can share this experience with us.  Love you all and God bless!  Thanks for checking this out!

Here is how we found out!  I had a mishap in the begining of February and dislocated my knee :(  I went in for X-rays of my knee and the technician asked me "Any chance of pregnancy?"  When I had some uncertanty I knew I had to take a test to put my the "Am I??? feeling to rest. I bought a generic test at Walmart, there were two in the box.  When the first one was positive, I took the second one to be sure, but that one was completely blank.

Two blue lines = POSITIVE

When Rich got home from work, I told him.  He thought something could be wrong with the whole box, (I think he he was in denial LOL) so I went to the pharmacy to buy the name brand test and sure enough...POSITIVE :)
